This is my advent wreath. The Germanic peoples of Eastern Europe used to decorate their homes during the dark cold winter with wreaths made of assorted evergreens and brighten the long nights with fires, both harbingers of hope in a return of the warmer days of spring. Later Christians have held these old traditions alive.
