In the summer of 2005, a vegetable garden on one of Vienna's squares, the Heldenplatz, was planted by volunteers in commemoration of the dearth of food the population of Vienna suffered under after WW II ended in 1945. At least that is how I understood it. Some of the 60 volunteer gardeners, apparently building fences of whatever materials they could find, seemed to exhibit a sense of humor.

looks to me like the sled part
is the garden gate latch
around the pole,
the part that goes up and down
to open the fence,
and if it is,
i just think that is *so* clever...
and if it isn't,
it should be...
