I have only just discovered this blog. I think it is charming and have bookmarked it.

Thank you, Maalie.
Had to follow the "another blog on the side" trend, I guess. :-)

Hi - I linked on to your site from Ramblings from an English Garden hope you don't mind. You have such a pretty blog. Love the photo of the watch.

PENLESS THOUGHTS,
you are welcome!
I keep wondering about the owner of this beautiful watch, who also kept that box over so many years (I tend to do that too, keeping such mementos).

Hello Merisi, I'm Maalie's little sister. I love the watch. I wear an old one. It first belonged to my father and when he died my mother wore it constantly. The only time she took it off was when it needed a new strap. She died just over a year ago and now I wear it all the time, but I do take it off for showering.

My dad's/mum's watch was also an Omega, a seamaster. It was accurate to about 5 seconds a week, but now looses about 2 minutes a day. I don't know whether to send it away for cleaning or whether to leave well alone and just alter the time each day. I don't want it's innards messed up. What do you think? Off to Spain with Maalie on Friday!

I googled for Omega Seamaster. My father's watch had a different clockface (I learned to tell time by looking at it, he would never tell me how late it was, only said, look at the watch! *g*).
Have fun in Spain! :-)
